I've been dying for a semi sheer silky blouse for a while now and I finally found the perfect one shopping at h&m a couple weeks ago. I've already worn it twice (paired with an army green skirt, I'm so trendy). I was also excited because I got these great shorts from nastygal and can't wait to wear them with tights for fall. After our 113 degree weather I thought summer was here to stay but it's been raining the past few days, so this may have been one of my last summer outfits.

I took an unintentional bloggy break. A lot has been going on in my personal life, good and bad, but right now things are good.

So here's what's been happening in my world.

I turned 25 and celebrated at Copa d'Oro in Santa Monica

Went to Vegas for the first time for work and had an amazing time. It pays to be a girl with hot friends in Vegas.

I was still obsessing over the simple ease of throwing on a button down and denim cutoffs. So, with my remaining $40 on my urban outfitters card I bought a comfy button down to feed my addiction. The one I really wanted was $60 but I'm trying to save and not spend actual money, only my gift cards. This outfit is cozy and easy to throw on, just what I needed after the weekend I had. In other news, I turned 25 this weekend. I was not looking forward to it at all, but I ended up having a great time with all of my friends. Pictures to come soon!

A couple weeks ago I stumbled across (thanks to Kim) this amazing vintage jewelry store in the Valley of all places. Collectible Glitz is located in Canoga Park on Sherman Way. It's surrounded by a ton of vintage furniture stores and thrift stores. You walk in to the store and all it is jewelry, wall to wall. It's arranged by color with the more expensive rare treats in glass cases. Right now, if you grab an item that is over ten dollars, you get 30% off! The owner is incredibly sweet and informative and not pushy at all.
I scored a pink necklace marked from the 50s, the white pendant necklace doubles as a brooch from the 80s and the earrings aren't vintage but they were only 10 dollars so I had to have them! I'm excited to wear my new goodies and go back for more! I'm officially hooked on this place.

Two Point Oh LA Fashion Blogger Meetup

Yesterday was a ton of fun at the TwoPointOhLA launch at Griffith Park! Kelsi did an amazing job putting it together and it was great meeting people. Also, the homemade dipped ice cream cart, Joysticks was amazing!!

I got pretty sunburned the day before so I made sure to cover up while looking cute with my new summer hat! The romper is from Urban Outfitters, belt from H&M, hat from Dianes, Dior sunnies, vintage earrings, marc by marc jacobs bag and my new target shoes!

I found this top at H&M when I was in Seattle a couple weeks ago. It was an impulse purchase and I'm not normally one to wear sequins or flashy tops, but it was too great to pass up. I wore this to go bowling at Lucky Strike in Hollywood. I wanted to subdue the sequins so I paired it with my fabulous new Target oxfords and threw a sweater over it. Though it turned out to be way too hot and I stopped being self conscious and embraced the sparkles! I'm proud of myself for getting out of my comfort zone and having fun with my clothes.

Obviously I was obsessing over the Vans x Stussy Bailie shoe the moment I saw it and knew I had to have my very own pair. I've been searching for a pair of brown oxfords or brogues, however you'd like to call them, and as I searched the internet for them to no avail I came across many droolworthy options. Then, of all places, I found the perfect pair on Target.com. $20 dollars! Who could resist that bargain? I bought them that second.

And they're cute, comfy and look even better on! I've become the Target queen when it comes to shoes lately.

Keep Portland Weird

I visited Portland a couple weeks ago and it quickly became one of my favorite cities ever. It is so nice, clean and there is a ton to do! Delicious coffee (seriously stumptown coffee was the best coffee I ever tasted), food (Henry's beer and burgers-yum) and beautiful clean crisp air!

I stood in line for an hour at the famous Voodoo Doughnuts to get a doughnut with a mustache on it, went to the Grotto- "a place for solitude, peace and prayer", saw a little dog with his very own goggles and had the best martini I ever had at Vault lounge.

I can't wait to go back!

Why yes I did buy the same shirt in two colors. How could I not? It's so adorable and the fit is amazing. Also new is my "paper bag" skirt from Urban Outfitters. I'm obsessed with the army green color paired with the stripes and the brown wedges.

Can someone please tell me what is up with the weather in LA lately? It's blazingly hot in New York yet in "sunny" LA it's 65 degrees and cloudy? Not okay with this, global warming! I'm trying to get a tan here!

Now, I love blogging about fashion, I love showing off my new stuff and talking about my recent obsessions. However, many of us are all so involved with taking pictures and posing, we have to be able to laugh at ourselves. I mean really, look at my face and pose, why so serious? That's not to say I'm going to stop. I love following style bloggers and I get inspiration from my fellow fashionistas. A year ago there's no way I would of posted a picture of myself saying, "hey look at what I'm wearing!" Even if someone thinks I look stupid, I've gained confidence. But it's all in good fun and I don't take myself too seriously.

I was walking through the mall last week, minding my own business, when I walked past this fabulous breton striped tee. I've been searching for the perfect breton stripe tee for some time now. I did a double take and marched right into the Gap! I haven't shopped there in quite some time and I was pleasantly surprised. Stripes and colors, I was in heaven! I went on a mini shopping spree and stocked up on colorful shorts, tanks and yes, my striped tees!

Up until a couple years ago I never wore shorts. I hated my legs, not to mention I am incredibly white and I was very self conscious about it. A night of debauchery

Last week the girls from work went to see Sex and the City 2. By the way, am I the only one that cringes every time someone writes Sex IN the City? Don't claim to be a fan if you don't even know the title. I even caught the error on Lucky.com! I hope someone got in trouble for that. It's one of my pet peeves. Along with spelling errors on professional documents and being late. I am always on time.

Anyway, I digress. We went to see the movie at the Arc Light in Hollywood Thursday night at 11:40pm. We decided to be very "Hollywood" and went to dinner at Katsuya followed by drinks at the W. I never go out in Hollywood and it was so fun getting dressed up. The cocktails at Katsuya were delicious and I actually really enjoyed the food. Drinks at the W was a blast and we were having so much fun we barely made the movie in time. We definitely drank to excess and stumbled into the theater.

I must admit I enjoyed the time leading up to the movie more than the film itself. I had so much excitement built up and it fell flat. I love those girls and it was definitely beautiful and yes, some parts had me laughing out loud (was it the alcohol?) but it lacked a plot and wasn't the brilliant writing I was used to in the series. I thought the first film was much better. The first movie was still Sex and the City. I'm still figuring out what this movie was...

In keeping with my obsession with the lovely Michelle Williams, I created a polyvore set for outfit inspiration. I love the casual Parisian feel of the day look with the black pants and polka dot blazer. I'd die for that vintage Chanel bag and earrings. Although during the day Michelle usually goes for the downtown indie vibe in her clothes, I could definitely see her in this outfit.

For night, I'm obsessed with the Sonia Rykiel dress she wore to the amfAR gala. I couldn't decide on just one sequin dress, there's so many beautiful dresses from Lanvin to Alice + Olivia. I NEED a sequin dress in my life. Of course I had to pair it with the Miu Miu platforms. Oh, what I would do for a $5,000 shopping spree to net-a-porter...

I've got a new girl crush and it's on indie fave Michelle Williams. She's the coolest of the cool when it comes to hipster fashion and she does it oh so well. I'm in love with this girl's style, whether it be on the red carpet or out in New York with her adorable little girl.

I've basically grown up with Michelle Williams since the days of Dawson's Creek. I didn't even like her, she stole Dawson from Joey! But now, I can't get enough of her effortlessly cool Brooklyn style.

What do you think? I was once obsessed with the Phillip Lim Sidra a while back and just recently saw this topshop version. While it lacks the adorable bow and sturdy shoulder strap (and buttery soft leather) this topshop bag is more than half the price and is pretty darn cute! Plus, this version features a longer strap to wear crossbody style, which we all love. I say it's a pretty good option for those on a budget without being too much of a ripoff.

New York in Review

New York is really the greatest city in the world. The sites, the sounds, so many things to do, the fashion and THE FOOD! I've never eaten better in my life! I've missed Real New York Pizza so much! And of course bagels with lox! Of course we had to stop by Magnolia's Bakery on our way to seeing Carrie Bradshaw's stoop! We went to Lombardi's for pizza made in a clay oven and fresh mozzarella and ate at Delicatessen where I had the best truffle oil fries (and saw Gabourey Sidibe from Precious). And if you're ever in the East Village you MUST eat at Caracas. We all gave Amanda a huge thank you for that recommendation! I could go on and on about the places I ate... Oh! But never, I repeat NEVER eat Mexican food in New York, it's disgusting.

We shopped in SoHo. I got to go in Topshop. I went to a Botkier sample sale and bought another new bag. Went to a Rebecca Minkoff Holiday Preview Party (if you look you can see me on the Minkette blog). I snapped shots of fashionable girls with great handbag style.

We were in New York for Accessorie Circuit, a trade show filled with amazing accessories! We also visited designers that we work with, including Zara Terez (seriously the sweetest girl and the most unique designer. Support this girl!), MZ Wallace (they make nylon and canvas look luxe), Nyla Noor (a great sister designing team where we talked for hours on a rooftop bar) and Rebecca Minkoff (who doesn't love her bags? Her stuff coming out is amazing). We were working from 8am to 10pm most nights, so needless to say we were exhausted! Though we worked a lot, we got to throw in some touristy things and shopping here and there!

I can't stop listening to Madonna ever since Tuesdays episode of Glee. Now, I should be listening to Madonna without the help of Glee, but come on, they did such an amazing job. (Clearly the best show on television right now, am I right?) They rekindled my love for her amazing songs. (Literally just danced to 'Dress You Up In My Love' in my kitchen while doing the dishes, almost poking my eye out with a knife.)

Not only is her music spectacular, but her fashion! She was so bold! This is an amazing opportunity for wanna-be Anna Wintours. Do you really know the fashion scene in your city? Handbago.com is searching for guest bloggers to write about fashion and handbag trends in New York, Miami, San Francisco, Chicago and Dallas.

You must have excellent writing skills, a great eye for style, and love fashion–especially handbags. You should absolutely be comfortable conducting interviews, meeting designers and covering events and sample sales. You’ll also be expected to approach strangers for street style profiles, so having your own digital camera and/or Flip camera (as well as self-confidence!) is a necessity. Finally, you should be proficient using Twitter, Facebook and other social media sites.

I told him no presents, no flowers this Valentine's Day. I just want a nice dinner complete with a glass of wine and a decadent dessert. We're both broke so I didn't want to spend extra money on gifts we don't need.

So he comes home last night from work with roses in his hand and says, "you told me I couldn't get you flowers for Valentine's Day, but you didn't say anything about flowers on a Friday."

My Second Outfit Post Ever

I was sick today. Feverish, sore throat, no fun at all. So finally at like 4pm I decided to get dressed and put on some makeup to make myself feel better. It worked, I'm feeling a lot better now! I put on my favorite cozy outfit. A long cardigan and leggings, comfortably cute!

Please excuse the poor picture quality, I was using my camera on my macbook. Still haven't gotten my sweet Canon Xti that I will be getting from my parents since they bought an even newer model. I love getting their electronic hand-me-downs.

All I can say is WOW. Kate Hudson in Pucci at the SAG Awards was a win in my book. The hair, makeup, everything was perfect. You did it again, Rachel Zoe.

Also in love with Lea Michele in Malandrino. She's becoming quite the fashionista. That cut and color look divine on her.

Finally, some people may not love this look, but if anyone can pull it off it's Diane Kruger. I'd personally love it more if it was in a different color, but she can work it.

A current trend I'm seriously loving is the striped tops with floral skirts/shorts. Kind of a flirty sailor chic, if you will. At first, I wasn't sure when I saw the outfits in the latest issue of Glamour but seeing it on Forever 21, I started to fall more in love. Then I realized, wait! I have noticed this trend and loved it! I fought with myself for days whether or not to purchase the Frassy Dress on Modcloth several months ago! I win! (Not quite sure what I win, but I felt it was an appropriate response)

I didn't end up purchasing the dress, because, as you all know, I'm broke as a joke. HOWEVER, BFF Amanda did purchase it. Which means it's a purchase for me and I will be borrowing it. Actually, I'll be wearing it Friday. Thanks, girl.

Burberry Prorsum Pre-Fall 2010 Collection was stunning. It was so different from the Spring Collection with the light colors, short, tight, drapey dresses. Now, it's all about military inspired, strong shoulders and dark blues and browns. I am still all about the strong shoulder.

Christopher Bailey is a genius. He's turned Burberry into a chic, stylish line. Every collection leaves me in awe. And let's just talk about him having Emma Watson as the face of the ad campaigns again. I think she is beautiful and the perfect face for Burberry.

I'm listening to Lady Gaga's Money Honey while perusing Pre-Fall collections and staring at styles that I'm just dying over. I believe Vicki, from Real Housewives of OC, put it so eloquently last night, while vacationing in Turks and Caicos with her husband, "Look at this, whoever said money doesn't matter, was poor."

I'm not THAT bad, but... look at all the pretty things a lot money can buy...

By now you know I'm a huge fan of Marc Jacobs, be it Marc by Marc, Marc Jacobs, or his designs for Louis Vuitton. I just can't get enough. I found this while I was perusing Nylon Mag's Blog and they were featuring a first look at Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall Collection.

Don't you all agree I would look adorable in this entire outfit? It comes out in July. Do you think I'll have that fabulous job where I can walk into Louis Vuitton, throw down that credit card and exclaim "I'll take it!"

Picture this, Fall of 2003, my first year at the lovely Las Positas Community College. I was taking a film appreciation class. The teacher was a radio DJ from our local radio station (that's weird, right?) Anyway, we have to make a video based on a short story or novel. My group is a bunch of girls and two guys that don't really care what goes on. So we all ironically just finished reading The Lovely Bones. So we make a short film based on The Lovely Bones. You know, the movie that is now coming out? I wrote the script. Complete with legit theater actors, several settings, even a cornfield, AND EVEN SHOTS FROM A HELICOPTER to signify her looking down from heaven etc. That was a damn good freshman movie if I say so myself. I wish I knew where it was now.

Why didn't I send that shit in??? I could be getting PAID right now! I was so ahead of the time, damnit!

This could have been me. Damn Peter Jackson had to swoop in and co-write the screenplay.

I can honestly say that 2009 was the worst year of my life. Looking back, trying to think of ONE positive thing to say, thinking back to each month, the only thing I could come up with was moving to L.A. Really the best decision of 2009.

In 2009 I became depressed, couldn't find a job for the life of me, kept getting down on myself for not being able to find a job, hated my education, the economy, dealt with lies, lost trust, struggled in the worst way with my relationship, lost faith, and felt sorry for myself.

I'm done. 2009 was a dirty little whore and I'm done with what it did to me.

2010 will be my year. I will regain trust, faith, and become successful. I will be lucky in my career and I will buy myself a new pair of shoes to celebrate. I will write, network and work on my skills. I will feel good about myself. I will eat healthier, exercise regularly and most importantly, I will have fun and be happy.

My Top 10 Scripted Television Shows of the Decade

Rules: Had to be scripted television and had to begin in the 2000's. These are my opinions only! This was really hard for me. I love television!

Without further ado...

10. The OC

Come on, how could I not have this teen drama on here? What fan didn't cry when Marisa died? Who else wasn't in love with Seth Cohen? It gave us Chrismukkah! Poor Mischa Barton, she never should have left. Stephanie Savage, Josh Schwartz, how I would love to work for them.

9. How I Met Your Mother

This show makes me laugh so hard. Jason Segel is one of my favorite actors. NPH cracks me up. How can you not love this show?

8. Mad Men

Epic. The drama, the infidelity, the drinking and smoking, the portrayal of women, the FASHION, oh the fashion.

7. The Office

Wonderful ensemble cast. Brilliant writers. Jim and Pam equals love. I laugh so much.

6. True Blood

Sexy. Pure sex. Sookie! Also a fan of the books. One of the first time's I like the show better than the book. But in the show I want Sookie and Bill together forever!

5. Arrested Development

Hilarious. Great concept. Excellent writers. Catapulted Michael Cera, revived Jason Bateman's career. I think everyone can relate to some aspect of this crazy family. There's always money in the banana stand.

4. LOST

Another great ensemble cast. Each season left you even more and more confused but wanting more. Finally getting answers this season. I think the show had the perfect run.

3. Dexter

Again, another show where I like it better than the books. Michael C. Hall is a brilliant actor. This show gives me anxiety every week. And with the season 4 finale, I was left in shock and awe for days following.

2. Curb Your Enthusiasm

Larry David, my favorite writer for television. I would die to work with him. I know Curb isn't scripted, but it counts and this is my list. This show gets better and better. More extreme than the last. Come on, he co-created Seinfeld. Actually, watching this show made me appreciate and love Seinfeld even more.

1. Six Feet Under

I can't express how much I love this show and how much it affected me. Alan Ball is a genius. (See True Blood, American Beauty) Yet another brilliant ensemble cast, where I first was introduced to Michael C. Hall. Quite a different role from Dexter but no less brilliant. The story lines in each episode were moving, visually beautiful, well written and perfectly acted. Can I come up with more adjectives for this show? Just love.

Honorable Mentions (because there really are more than 10 great shows of the decade)

Glee

Quickly becoming my favorite show. Easily the best show of the new season, I can't wait to see what the rest of the season has in store. I love singing along to it every week!

Grey's Anatomy

Brought us McDreamy, adult angst, extreme medical cases, every episode tugging at your heart strings. This show started off really strong, dipped down in the middle, but now I am starting to enjoy it again. Still a huge show for the decade.

30 Rock

Has won every award possible, Tina Fey is a phenomenal writer. This is probably the only list that it isn't in the top ten, but don't get me wrong, it is still an excellent show.

Big Love

Making polygamy cool? HBO just does no wrong. And who doesn't love Margie?

Gossip Girl

Another teen favorite of mine. The boys are sexy, the girls are hot. Chuck Bass. Say no more. Another show I love partly because of the fabulous fashion.

Weeds

Pot dealing mom, the hilarious Kevin Nealon, what a great combination. This show started off really strong and was a great concept. It's gotten a little ridiculous as the seasons go on with the Mexican drug lords, killing DA agents, but it is still a hit.

There you have it, my top 10 television shows of the decade from a former television student. Can't wait to see what's in store in the next decade. (Hopefully I'll be working on one of the shows!)

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! I was spoiled as usual. We went to my parents new house 2 hours away in Apple Valley, though we sat in traffic the whole way there so it took 3 hours! It was not fun. We got there, drank champagne, opened gifts, ate a ton of food and my mom made us take a million pictures.

I made a side dish to bring, noodle kugel. My mom's step mom is Jewish and it was my favorite dish for the holidays so I attempted my own for our small Christmas gathering. It turned out pretty well!

Now time for the Christmas present roundup!

My mom got me a new towel set, of course my beautiful marc bag, a marc by marc jacobs purple croc little wallet, House of Harlow gladiator cuff, some great scented soy candles, giant mugs, also not pictured are a new shower curtain, plates and bowls set, socks, pjs, snacks and gift cards to Von's and Target. She also got Justin gas gift cards, which he desperately needs with the commuting he does.

BF got me a ton of goodies.

The books are Style A to Zoe, the latest Dexter book, The Sookie Stackhouse short stories, Lolita, Are you there vodka it's me Chelsea, The Private lives of Pippa Lee, and Save the Cat (a book on screenwriting), Dvds are Dear Jack (Jack's Mannequin, Something Corporate's Andrew McMahon doc on his battle with cancer), Away we go, and 500 days of summer, I also got CDs including both Glee Cd's (they have not left my car), an adorable party dress from Modcloth and a ring from Tiffany. The ring was a complete surprise. He never gets me jewelry unless I asked for it, my last two tiffany necklaces were requests, it was so cute he found this on his own. It says I love you around the band and he had our initials engraved on the inside.

I'd say Christmas was a success!

I received this lovely blog award not once, but twice, from two lovely bloggers, Selma over at Crazy Little World of Mine and Missy at Oh Missy Me. The rules are to post ten things that make me happy.

(in no particular order)

1. Shopping

Makes me feel better like nothing else can. Even if it's just picking up some make up at Sephora or MAC. I have a problem, I know. My boyfriend does not enjoy my addiction, but I don't care, he doesn't pay my bills and he doesn't understand the love of a marc bag, michael kors shoe, urban outfitters dress, etc, etc.

2. Disneyland

Our happy place. It's magical. There's no fighting once you walk through the gates, only happiness. Except for the stupid ass people that stop right in front of you and don't know where they are going when I am on a mission to get on a ride! That place never gets old.

3. Painting my nails

It's therapeutic really. Ever since I worked at a spa and had access to hundreds of nail polish colors and would paint my nails on Sundays when no one was around, I have become addicted. Buying pretty colors, dark are my favorite, I just can't get enough.

4. My shows on TV

Don't get me started, I have a show DVRing every night of the week. I majored in Television, it's ok. (or so I tell myself)

5. Blasting music in my car and singing along

Ga-ga-ooh-la-la nothing puts me in a better mood than singing along to my favorite CD or latest guilty pleasure on the radio.

6. L.A.

I seriously love it here. Everything is close by, the shopping is fantastic, the beach is right there. It is perfect for me. I still can't believe I live here sometimes. Now if only I could get my dream job in Entertainment to go along with it.

7. Blogging

I know everyone says it, but I love writing and I love blogging. It's an escape and a place for me to write about what I love, or hate (retail) for that matter. Whether it be on my personal blog, or writing about the latest handbag designer on Handbago, I absolutely love what I do here. I also love the little blog community. No cattiness here, who says girls can't be great to each other?

8. Going out to dinner

I love food. I love going out to restaurants and trying new food or going to old favorites. My favorite places to go out to are Sushi places and Mexican restaurants. Mmm. But I only like going to really GOOD places, sometimes I eat and I don't even enjoy it. It has to be an enjoyable experience with good people around. Oh and dessert. Lots of dessert! Though I do love me some Chick-fil-a!

9. Margaritas

It's been awhile since I've gone out to Taco Tuesday, miss that for sure. Margaritas put me in a good mood. Now that I think of it, alcohol in general makes me happy. Champagne has been my drink of choice lately and my old standby, vodka cranberry makes me a fun date at the bar. (Casey's Tavern, Amanda). I swear I'm not an alcoholic, I don't even drink often, just drinking with my good friends makes me happy.

10. Boyfriend

We've been through good times and bad, ups and downs, it's been one hell of a roller coaster for the past 5 years but one thing is for sure, he knows how to put a smile on my face.

I pay for sex

Do you girls ever think about that? Those of you that are on the Pill? I got my prescription yesterday and it was 60 freaking dollars. I mean I've been paying that for a while now, except for when I score some free samples from my Dr. but really, just thinking about. I pay a lot for sex. I have to have sex twice a day for the entire month just to break even. And no, that surely does not happen. I think the guy should have to pay for half. Not that mine will, I'm just saying. When the hell are they gonna make a pill for men?? SO not fair.

In other news, I am so sick of rejection letters. Or sending my resume in, knowing I am beyond capable of the job and not hearing anything back. It's just not fair.

I'm sick of idiots coming in to work and saying, "I don't know the title or the author, but can you help me find this book?" Or getting mad at me because the line is long or because we don't have a book in stock or lifting their shirt up at me to explain legal problems. (yes that really did happen, I could write a book on what I see) I'm sick of rude ass managers and co-workers. I'm sick of not getting to do what I went to school to do!

I miss my best friend. this bitch.

OK ok stop. No more whining. I promise I'll be back soon with pretty dresses and shoes I'm drooling over. Life is taking it's toll on a lot of us in this bloggyworld. But we'll all be ok.

My Christmas decorations make me smile. So does Disneyland which is where I will be tomorrow. Hooray!

Lady Gaga's new CD also makes me happy. I don't care how you feel about her, that woman's got talent.

Did some shopping this weekend. A little damage on the ol' credit card. Banana Republic had a pretty great sale. I got a cozy cashmere sweater, a silk-cotton-cashmere blend sweater, striped long sleeve t and this double breasted angle sweater.

I love it! Though, I prefer it open or with one button. However, Banana Republic TOTALLY has skinny mirrors. The sweaters and shirt looked much better in their mirrors than mine. BUT I still love em. Also discovered their petite clothes. I tried them on and said, "so this is how it's supposed to fit!"

Today I went to the american apparel outlet and got bf a cardigan and myself another pullover and sweater dress. I absolutely love this pullover!

I have one already in blue and it's soo comfy.

And the sweater dress will look pretty hot with these. Yes friends, I got the Michael Kors peep toes. In black. I lovvved the brown but to save money I returned the black peep toes I just bought and got these instead. Saved my Nordstrom card a little bit of money. I must say, the world looks much better at 5'7 than 5'2. Yep.

And last, the newest love of my life, my early Christmas present from my mom. This beautiful Marc by Marc Jacobs bag. My little heart skips a beat every time I look at it.

I've Got Wedding Fever!

Sunday my bosses at Handbago got married! It was beautiful. I love weddings. I already know how I want mine to be, color scheme, dress ideas, and I don't even have a ring! The poor bf had to come home to me gushing about weddings and I probably freaked him out.

Hey, we've been together for five years, we're going that way, is it soo wrong to want to go ring shopping?? I don't think so. Of course I want to wait until I have my career and the money to have my dream wedding, but a girl can dream.

Palms sweaty, heart beating rapidly, thoughts constantly drifting back to the first moment I laid my eyes on them. It's love. I'm in love.

With a new pair of shoes. Oh Michael, Michael Kors, I love you.

I love the double platform, I love the gold accent. And let me tell you, I slipped my feet into these 5 inchers and walked around Nordstrom like I had on my nikes. They were SO comfortable. And I am known to cry because of my heels, so for me to say they were comfortable is not an exaggeration. And they looked SO GOOD ON. I instantly felt sexy and 10 pounds lighter. What's stopping me from throwing down the credit card?

There are only two problems: The 6.5 fit, but my heel slipped out a bit, I could put those heel pads in and it would probably work well. The 6 fit great but my big toe stuck out too far for comfort in the peep toe and looked like a giant. Not cute.

Second, I JUST bought a pair of black peep toes, not flat black like these though, sort of a faux snakeskin, but black peep toe nonetheless.

I don't have any shoes in this color, but is it practical? I'm more of a black shoe gal.

Dear readers, what's a girl to do? I just can't get them out of my mind...

These are mine. Except they are leather, not suede. They look pretty HOT on, I must say. The only problem is, taking them off, I look totally UN-sexy. It takes about five minutes to get them off. Luckily me and the boy have been together so long I don't have to undress sexily. HAHA is that a word? When we come home from being out, I get to pull them off, contorting and making strange faces and then pull on my unsexy yet so cozy pj pants. Yeah, I'm pretty glad I can be comfortable and not worry about how I look all the time. I'm sure if he read this, he wouldn't be too pleased!

Anyway, I went on a bit of a shopping spree this weekend. I feel pretty guilty. I did get some Seven Jean Leggings and I am in love with them. Though I'm debating getting a size smaller because they are a bit loose and I know how Sevens stretch.

This weekend I also met Jason Schwartzman! Swoon! I love him. He was doing a signing at Borders and I started talking to him. He was super nice! I was pleasantly surprised. I asked him what's wrong with me! Why can't I get a job in entertainment, haha. But he gave me good advice, told me it wasn't me, and basically to keep trying. All things I know, but awesome to hear from Jason Schwartzman! He signed my coconut records CD.

I really wish I didn't look like crap though! What can I say, it was early on a Saturday...

P.S. I also saw Jay-Z, probably the best concert I've ever been to.

Can I be real here for a minute?

1. why did I choose a job where I am running back and forth putting books away in black ballet flats that have no support and kill my feet and my only comfortable shoes are sandals and open toe flats (both of which are not allowed to be worn)? So now I have to search for cute flats that don't hurt or give me blisters. My mom says, "why don't you wear your sneakers?"

No momma, the only place I wear "sneakers" out is to the gym. I will not compromise and wear ugly shoes to work. I tried wearing a pair of black vans I have, but I wore my black skinnies you could totally see part of my socks and I wasn't really feeling the Michael Jackson tribute. I already can only wear jeans (and I love my dresses!) because I have to have a walkie talkie strapped to me. Today I saw a girl wearing an unfortunately patterned long, flowy dress with a hoodie and her walkie stuck in the pocket. NO. Just no.

And why do all these people look like they hate their life? Haha, reminds of the recent curb episode when larry is walking down the street and the woman goes, Smile! It's a beautiful day! and larry says hey why don't you mind your own business, how bout that?

I guess I'll just mind my own business while I'm there.

*Handbago please become a gigantic company so I can be released from retail hell.*

2. BF and I will now see each other for a few hours before we go to sleep because our schedules are so different. And when we get home we are so tired. And then I am so cranky I just yell at him. He puts up with a lot.

3. A couple nights ago we drove all the way to Oxnard for Chik-fil-a. It was my first time. And it was totally worth it! I really don't eat fast food but that was some good chicken nuggets and their array of dipping sauces was amazing. Mmm complete with waffle fries and a sweet tea.

4. Time Warner Cable is the devil! I set the DVR, double check the DVR, go to watch the DVR and without fail, at least one show will not be recorded.

5. Lady Gaga is already sold out! I woke up early this morning to get tickets because I really want to see her. I opened my computer at 9:58, tickets went on sale at 10am. Refresh, refresh, tickets available, click to get tickets, SOLD OUT. WHAT. THE. FUH.

Now I'm cranky and have to go to bed to wake up for work and BF only just got home from work.

Update on my life

So I've lived in LA for a month now and I love it. I am much happier here. It's fun and exciting. I've been searching for jobs and in the meantime I got a part-time job at Borders. (Which I'm not really looking forward to, retail during the holidays is hell, but at least I'll have some income.) I haven't worked holiday retail in two years, so we'll see how soon I have a mental breakdown.

As you've also noticed from reading my blog I love clothes, shoes, handbags, etc. I was perusing online and found this awesome website Handbago. It's all things handbags. Every handbag you've ever wanted is on this site and they also have celebs carrying handbags so if you see a celeb with a handbag you love, you can immediately find out what bag it is. They also have a great blog featuring designers, upcoming sales and fashion news, as long as it's related to handbags. Long story short, I've become a fashion writer for the website, meaning I write blogs and manage the twitter and facebook! It's a ton of fun and I've already gotten to go to a trunk show featuring an up and coming designer and interviewed her for the site. I get to interact with designers, go to events, and write! It's been great so far, I'm super busy and I hope to continue on with this company for a long time! Please help promote our site so it becomes a go-to site for fashion and I can make this a career and I can one day go to New York Fashion Week!

I've also met up with a blogger friend, Kim from My Wooden Heart. We went and saw the Backstreet Boys at Jimmy Kimmel Live and felt like middle school girls again. We've become real life friends and are practically neighbors! I can't wait to hang out more! Double dates, shopping and wine in the near future!

Motivation

This morning I was seriously lacking motivation but then the sun decided to peek through the clouds a bit and I was determined to have a productive day. I got up and cleaned my ENTIRE apartment. Took me almost three hours! Everything is neat and clean. My mother would be so proud. Every time I talk to her she always has to tell me to keep the apartment clean. It never fails. Now I need motivation for the gym. I'm thinking about the 30 day shred as well.

While I was tidying up my desk I came across some pictures I need to frame and put on the wall. I found a painting of the Eiffel Tower and it got me thinking of my European trip last summer. I went to London and Paris on a Contiki tour. They were both such beautiful and amazing cities I wish I could go back. London was such a cool city. It was clean, easy to get around and full of things to do. Paris is just breathtaking. The people were SO chic. Just walking on the street looking fabulous. I was seriously in heaven. I cannot wait to go back, this time with the boy. Europe is just so romantic.

I am motivated to work hard and have a successful career so that I can go back to these exciting locales. I just have to keep thinking positively!

What a gloomy day it is here in Los Angeles. It's cold outside and for some reason, even colder in my apartment. I don't know how that happens. I don't like to venture outside when it gets cold and gloomy. I'd much rather stay in bed all day wrapped in sweaters and blankets. I could go for a pumpkin spice latte (sometimes with a pump of white mocha, something I discovered while working at starbucks back in the day. sugar overload!) but that would require me to get out from under my cozy blanket.

Sigh. I need some motivation. In the summer I am much happier and energetic. I need to get that enthusiasm in the fall/winter months.

One thing I do like about fall is the fashion and the boots! I need a pair of tall, black, heel, boots. I have black ankle boots, dark brown heeled tall boots, light brown tall riding boots, dark brown suede tall flat boots but no black tall boots!! What's wrong with me?! I've yet to find the perfect pair. I love my riding boots and they have a slight wedge, and they do come in black, but I want something a little sexier. I feel so much more confident in a pair of heels, don't you?

I think I'm in love with this. "Petals to the Metal-Sasha Hobo". It screams fall to me and almost makes me wish I was back in school. Almost. I could see myself wearing this to school in San Francisco. Of course, I would rock it here in LA sans school.

Marc by Marc bags are some of my favorite. Clearly I'd love to own Marc Jacobs but Marc by Marc is the more affordable brand and I love almost all of the handbags from this line. My everyday purse, that I love so so much, is the Totally Turnlock tote. It goes with everything. I've had it for almost a year and a half and I wear it all the time. (I give myself a break when my shoulder starts to ache because I have a ton of stuff in my bag.)

Which brings me to: What's in my bag?! I know no one really cares but hey, everyone's done it so why not!

Wallet: HOBO from Nordstrom. I loved the paisley print on the inside. My wallet weighs at least two pounds. Part of what makes my purse so heavy!

Phone: iPhone! Love her. That's right, her. Never leave home without her.

the girls are back

My four favorite friends are back to filming and I know many of us a super excited about it. Me, I can't wait to see Charlotte's baby and hope Samantha gets back together with Smith. And the fashion the fashion the fashion!! The first movie left me stunned at the glamourous and amazing outfits. Even Carrie's casual outfits I wanted.

But here are some things I don't want to happen:

Carrie and Big break up, again. That was a huge twist in the first movie and in the end it was right. But can't these two just stay together. No cheating, no taking a break. They've taken too many breaks! Let them just stay together!!

Matter of fact, make that no cheating for any character. It's been done before. Don't use it again.

I don't know if I want Carrie and Big to have a baby. I don't know if it's that realistic. Sure, people their age do have babies. Chris Noth just had a baby two years ago I think. I just don't know if I see those two having a baby.

But mainly I can't wait for the clothes, the girls, and New York City!

panic has set in

OK I was/am very excited about moving.

But then today, driving to the grocery store, I freaked the eff out. I had a mini panic attack. I'm moving to L.A.! Crazy busy traffic filled L.A.

I was driving my quiet streets in my little bay area suburb and my heart started racing. I promptly texted three friends and called my mom to calm me down. I know this is where I need to be. This is where my career and future is. But it's just scary leaving my hometown and family. It's my comfort zone. But I'm dealing with it and I will have fun and love it.

So I went to the mall to calm myself down.

A little find to perk me up and calm me down for $7.50. And I had a credit at forever 21 so no money spent by me! that's the back but the front is boring.

Time to watch Top Model! There's a girl from my hometown, Livermore, on this season.

I just watched a pre-season special on the latest Curb Your Enthusiasm and it got me even more excited for the new season. "The closest thing to a Seinfeld reunion that you'll get!"

Watching Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld interact and start cracking up unable to get through their scenes is incredible to watch. The fact that the entire show is improv and they just run with ideas is unbelievable! Oh and Justin and I also decided that my mom is totally Susie. The New York accent, how confrontational she is, how she yells at her husband and Larry (yeah, my dad gets yelled at a lot the way Susie yells at Jeff) I mean, she's not as harsh, but there's definitely a resemblance. It's hilarious.

I love Larry David!

I just want to work for/with him. HBO is my dream job. I'll do anything there, just to work in that office or on one of their productions.

I keep dropping hints to Justin that I need this shirt. Where I found about a month ago thanks to this gorgeous gal's blog.

Speaking of blogs, I have to say I've only been blogging a couple months but I love reading all of the fabulous blogs I follow. I'm so happy that I started doing this. I love the interaction with everyone. When I'm feeling grumpy or in a bad mood it always cheers me up to see a new comment or follower. It may sound nerdy but I feel like I'm making new friends! Especially finding so many people that live where I am moving, where I only have one good friend down there.

It's the little things that do it for me, haha. Like that one time I was walking through the mall and a group of girls walked by and said "cute outfit!" It made my day!

One more week until we move!

We will be SoCal residents. No longer NorCal! I'll still represent the Bay but I can't wait to start a new life down there! I'm a little bit nervous leaving my comfort zone and all that is familiar. But I'm just really, really excited. Make new friends, have Amanda only be 15 minutes away for the first time in our friendship, finally get a job (! please, god!) and enjoy life. Justin is definitely more nervous than I am. He's very content with our suburban lifestyle but we both want to start a new chapter in our lives. Start our careers. He in music, me in television.

I can't wait!

cheap shoes... when I see cute shoes, no matter the price, I have to have them. I found adorable ones at Target and even Payless.

The problem... is that they are SO uncomfortable! They hurt! I can barely walk.

Hopefully my dr. scholls insoles will help but I think I am going to follow Nina Garcia's advice and save money up and buy good shoes. A good shoe won't leave you in pain. My most comfortable heels are my steve madden booties ($100) and my Seychelles open toe heels ($70) not that expensive at all but in my current economic condition, wayyy too much to spend right now.

Justin asked me, why do you need so many shoes. I told him all girls love shoes and shoes always look good. No matter your size or age.

It's a great book with adorable illustrations, fun quotes from designers and Nina's tips on style and how to work with what you have and what are important pieces to buy in this economy. Invest in pieces that are timeless and will last. Like a great pencil skirt, trench, and shoes! Splurge on the shoes! She encourages you to shop your closet and work with what you have and then go shopping for what you need. Save for the important pieces, and then you can buy a few inexpensive trendy accessories and clothes.

A good rule to follow: Don't buy anything unless you have at least three

items in your closet that it will go with. The smart woman always

creates options.
